We currently have a food production supervisor position available at our food plant in Norwalk Iowa.
This is a Monday thru Friday position, with occasional weekend coverage if needed.
Job Description Direct and coordinate all activities related to a production shift to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality.
Employee will supervise production operations according to established priorities and schedules, connect performance management for associates in department, manage production staff to attain production quality in processing, continually interact with all other Production Operations department, and evaluate and review departmental budget.
Essential Functions:
Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods.
Regularly review company GMP'S and procedures to ensure all plant employees are following guidelines and are regularly being trained as per company requirements.
Manage production employee scheduling (work schedule, vacation, etc.
).
Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
Demonstrate equipment operation and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training.
Confer with other supervisors and managers to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments (Maintenance, QC etc.
).
Responsible for training and orientation of new employees according with the processing requirements.
Ensure all production data is gathered and reported correctly on a daily basis.
Ensure safety programs/training are implemented effectively with OSHA Process Safety.
Review inspections of operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
Responsibility for implementing established food safety practices with all employees Perform all other duties as assigned.
